La Piazzetta

The central square of Capri. The center of social life both for locals and visitors. Those who have been there know what I'm talking about while saying that the Piazzetta is loveliest in the evenings..Just when the crowds taking one-day trips to the island have left, the whole island starts to live a very different life. A lot of it is centered around the very same Piazzetta - center of information, meeting place with friends and place for getting new aquaintances. Lovely little cafes and bars surrounding the square, which offer you also nice shade and cool moment out of the sun during daytime, turn into magnificent oasis of light, conversations, hidden and not so hidden looks when the first traces of sunset appear. Everybody gathers there to have a drink after the working day or un apperitivo before dinner. You can feel this special atmosphere all around you while sitting and slowly enjoying your strawberry margarita or local limoncello. There is a constant flow of people, chatting, greetings and smiles around you. People are showing themselves, beautiful clothes, beautiful children, exchanging news... Like a parade everybody takes part in with pride. La passegiata.
